I know that shell dwellers and julis can share the same tank, I’m just not sure if 20 gallons is enough. The shell dwellers have like 20 shells, I also have some rocks in.
4/23/2005 · I would say in a 20 Gallon you should only put 3 – 4 cichlids that will grow no more than 5 inches. You can add 8 – 10 dwarfs that will grow no more than 3 inches. They are more content with smaller spaces. You can add 10+ small cichlids if you plan to get them a bigger tank as they grow.

1/29/2011 · Hey I have a 20 and a 29 gallon tank set up for any fry from my 75 gallon tank, but I’m thinking of either converting it to a breeding pair tank, or a shellies tank. 1) What species of shell dwellers is fun and a good fish to keep, My original plan was to get a 55 gallon and then stock it with shell dwellers to inhabit the bottom of the water column, and some other things to inhabit the top and middle. 11/13/2011 · I have an empty 20 gallon that I’d like to try something different with. Right now I have quite a few community tanks and a couple betta tanks, but I’ve never kept a cichlid tank. Would I be able to keep maybe 5 or 6 african cichlids in a 20 gallon ? I know that that would be overstocking a little, but they need to be overstocked a little anyway.
