I took a z pack for a sinus infection the normal 5 day dose. I had the normal gastrointestinal sides at first then came day four. I have had horrible neck and ear pain on the same side , anxiety, a feeling of impending doom and insomnia. I finish my last pill on Sunday 2 days ago. I know it stays in your system for 5 days after your last dose.
Z -packs are a huge pet peeve of mine. Unfortunately azithromycin is commonly prescribed for conditions in which antibiotics are not indicated. There are some practitioners of all sorts who will give out a z – pack to just about anyone with a cough and upper respiratory infection symptoms without considering a differential diagnosis.
Lungs clear on x ray, possibly because his doctor had started him on a z pack on 12/07 in case of bronchitis.
